ROADMAP
OpportunitiesNext steps

Start with the business

Advice shaped around your work, people and responsibilities.

The goal is a decision your leadership team can explain—not a list of fashionable tools.

Opportunity mapping

Identify where AI could remove friction, improve access to information or support better service.

Readiness review

Consider goals, people, processes, information, systems and the practical ability to adopt change.

Risk and governance

Surface privacy, accuracy, security, ownership and human-review requirements early.

Prioritised roadmap

Sequence learning, pilots and implementation around value, feasibility and responsible use.

Who it is for

Owners and managers making an operational decision.

This structure is intended for established SMEs with a real business problem or opportunity, leadership involvement and enough time to examine how work happens today.

CAPABILITY OUTCOMES

By the end, participating leaders should be better able to:

  • Explain where AI could—and should not—support the business
  • Assess candidate use cases against value, feasibility and risk
  • Recognise data, privacy, accuracy and human-oversight needs
  • Prioritise a realistic next step with owners and decision gates

Proposed delivery structure

From uncertainty to an actionable roadmap.

The exact scope, participants, delivery format and time commitment are confirmed before an engagement begins.

  1. 01

    Discover

Clarify the business context, desired outcomes, constraints, stakeholders and baseline evidence.

  2. 02

    Assess readiness

Review current processes, information, systems, skills and responsible-use requirements.

  3. 03

    Prioritise

Compare candidate use cases by business value, feasibility, cost, benefit and risk.

  4. 04

    Build the roadmap

Document priority use cases, tool direction, implementation stages, owners and decision gates.

  5. 05

    Handover and decide

Walk leaders through the roadmap, answer questions and agree the next decision—not an automatic implementation.

ENGAGEMENT RECORD

Evidence designed into the work

  • Agreed scope, audience and learning objectives
  • Baseline problem and readiness observations
  • Participants, workshop notes and working artefacts
  • Decisions, assumptions and responsible-AI considerations
  • Roadmap version, feedback and follow-up actions
  • Publication permission before any case study is shared

The roadmap

A practical management document—not a technology shopping list.

Recommendations should make assumptions and uncertainties visible so leaders can make a proportionate investment decision.

01

Opportunity register

Candidate use cases connected to specific business problems.

02

Priority use cases

A reasoned shortlist based on usefulness, feasibility and responsibility.

03

Tool direction

Recommended tool categories and selection considerations—not a forced product sale.

04

Cost and benefit view

Documented assumptions, dependencies and measures to test before investment.

05

Implementation pathway

Stages, owners, capability needs, safeguards and clear decision gates.

Engagement outputs

Useful artefacts your team can act on.

Opportunity map

A plain-language view of candidate use cases and the problems they address.

Risk notes

Key data, privacy, quality, security and oversight considerations.

Prioritised roadmap

Recommended sequence, owners, dependencies and decision gates.

Capability plan

What leaders and staff need to learn before and during adoption.

Independent service

Xtreme Systems is not currently an RBPN-registered service provider or an MBIE/AI Advisory Pilot-approved provider. This advisory structure is independently offered while we build verified capability and delivery evidence. Any programme eligibility, provider selection or funding decision is made by the relevant programme administrators and cannot be promised by Xtreme Systems.

After the roadmap

Implementation is a separate decision.

An advisory engagement may identify a workshop, a small test, a documented implementation project—or a clear reason not to proceed yet. Completing a roadmap does not commit a business to a tool or implementation.

RESPONSIBLE ADOPTION

Keep people accountable

  • Use the minimum necessary information
  • Keep human review where judgement matters
  • Test accuracy and failure modes before launch
